Keeping accurate movement records for your cattle, sheep, deer, pigs is a mandatory requirement of all UK farmers under UK law and UK farm assurance and organic schemes.

Records are required to ensure animal movements, birth and deaths are record accuratly and in the required time period. The movements records should include holding numbers and address details

The Movement Record

The movemment record provides the movement details for a group of animals listing each animal by its official tag. Sheep may also be listed as batch within the list for example 50 Lambs.

Given we still have cattle passports and they have usefull barcodes, using a barcode scanner makes recording movements a very easy job. Especially if you have large batchs of calves. Line up the passport and scan the numbers in.

Sheep

Sheep are a bigger problem! which is where EID in sheep comes into its own. an EID reader can make this a lot simpler and provide a list of tags to download and produce the movement document. You can also do this from a weighing session, or management group.

Confirmed and Unconfirmed Movements

You can create a movement for tommorrow and confirm it when the animals have actually gone!. So as the passports need to go with the cattle, scan them the day before, then confirm and register the movement when they have actuall left the farm

Notification of Movements - BCMS / CTS, Scott EID, LIS and EID Cymru

Built in interfaces with the FarmIT 3000 desktop software provide direct communication to notify movements, birth and deaths. Connecting to the region authority we log all communications and receipt data. You will also be warned of errors and pending transactions.

Animals Movement Data and History

The animals movement data is a little more than its movements, but includes the date of registration, first 'On Date', Last off date, holding status, holding number and current location. It also displays the animals movement history.

Customers and Suppliers

Customer and Supplier records (a customer can also be a supplier - e.g market) provide the details for the sending or receiving holding, its holding number and address. Once created the next movement you just pick it off the list. It also provides easy access to cattle and sheep purchase by them from you. Movement history etc.
