Designed to be small and very transportable the FarmIT 3000 Lamb weighing crate
comes in at only 55 Kg. It length is under 1250mm to ensure it is easy to
transport. Its built in electronic load cells provide for digital weighing
whilst eliminating the excess weight of conventional load bar. Mounted towards
the top of the crate they are also out of mud.
This is a small crate designed for weighing sheep upto 60Kg, for examples Lambs
to 45Kg or small breeding ewes. Although it has an internal width which will accomodate
larger animals (470mm), The internal length at only 1080 mm makes larger animals
stop before thier back legs get into the crate. So if you intended to weigh your
mature ewes you may find this hard work, at which point the larger 3 way manual
drafting crate is probably the better answer as its internal length is over
1200mm.
That said for selecting lambs this is a real easy crate to use and move.
The crate is all aluminium with plastic laminated ply sides and a plastic (stok
board) floor.
End gates slide towards you. The crate is therefore suitable for use up against
a wall. Access to the top of the animal is open and a removeable antijump bar
puts the animal off leaping out.
The crate is displayed here with a Agrident ASR550 EID reader and TRU-TEST Ezi
Weigh 7I Weigh head allowing for the automatic weighing and recording of lamb
weight against the animals EID number. Thus allowing for the calculation of
daily liveweight gains whilst weighing and the download of the data to your
management software later.
