FarmIT Aluminium Sheep Weigh Crate 2020.

The 2020 model of FarmIT 3 way manual drafting weight crate moves away from traditional load bars to use 4 independant load cells mounted at the top of the crate. Although load bars are very good they are rather overated for a sheep crate and they are very heavy (20Kg). The crate was also simplified to make the crate lighter and create a more robust frame. The changes combine to make the crate much easier to more round the farm.

The are however two main differences from the standard 3 way Manual Drafting Crate.

1. There is NO moveable mid panel.

2. There is no handle on the input end to open the main exit gate.

NO Moveable Mid Panel

The moveable mid panel which allows the crate to be 'Narrowed' was left off this crate in order to reduce weight. The width of the crate internally is 45 cm which is wide enough for ewes wilst only just allowing very small lambs to run round. If you need a moveable mid panel then we still make the original crate !.

No Far Gate Handle

Again this was left off in order to save weight, but also because the suspension system of the crate gets in the way of the handle. So to keep things simple and reduce cost the handle was not included. If you think you need this feature then remember we still make the original crate.

Built In EID Antenna

Just like the standard weigh crate, the 2020 model includes a built in antenna, allowing the use of the Agrident ASR550 Statuc EID reader. This allows the EID of the sheep to be read automatically and passed to an appropriet weigh head for example the TRU-TEST EW7 or XR5000,. Alternatively the ASR550 can send the EID via bluetooth to your PSION, phone or computer.

Equipment Rails

The round 1.5 inch tubes provide easy mounting for weigh heads, EID readers and can holders. The 1.5 Inch clamps allow easy removal and positioning.

Load Cells Out Of The Mud

The load cells are positioned at the top of the internal weighing platform, effectively suspending the plateform. This ensures the cells are out of the mud and cables neatly hidden away to avoid nibbling by the sheep.

Welded Lugs

Welded lugs allow easy connectiveity to your handling system. We can also supply adapters if the lugs do not quite fit. Call US for help if need be!

Wheels ?

Wheels are also provided to allow the crate to be moved more easily. They are intended for push / pull manual use, not towing behind your quad bike!
