British Cattle Movement Services - BCMS

The BCMS provide the central government recording for cattle movements in England and Wales. As part of the system , CTS provides a direct computer web based system that allows a computer software program to notify birth and movements automatically. Most farm management packages no use this system.

FarmIT 3000 and BCMS / CTS

To use the CTS webservice with farm management software you do need to call BCMS and ask them to issue you with a BCMS/CTS username and password to 'USE WITH FARM MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE'. You government gateway password WILL NO WORK.

FarmIT 3000 provide a built in link to the CTS cattle tracing system. All you need to use this, is an internet connection and an appropriate CTS username and password.

Cattle On Holding Download

The direct connection allows you to first of all download your current animals saving considerable time in the setting up of your records. You can then do all your notifications of births and movements with the CTS system.

Not using CTS or Prompt for confirmation

Of course you may not want to tell them everything and FarmIT 3000 allows you to switch this off or prompt you before adding the animals to the notification list.

Keeping Track!

We also track all CTS notifications and record all receipt numbers and confirmation information we receive back from the CTS system.

On Your Side!

FarmIT 3000 is your farm recording software, and we work for you NOT the government. We therefore do not send any information to the government without you confirming or initiating the transfer and ensure that the information you send and responce we get from BCMS is logged and can be traced, if we need to convice them that you did try, or that their computer actually got it wrong.
