Agrident Hand Held EID Readers

Agrident have been leading the world in hand held EID readers and data loggers for the last 20 Years. The FarmIT 3000 software provides direct download and processing of the collected data, with specific user interfaces (Tasks) for the Agrident readers.

The Agrident readers are exceptionally well built (The fact that they will even work if submerged in water will surely please some Welsh hill farmers - but is not recommended!) I have operated the readers in some very wet conditions, happy in the fact that they are waterproof. Please remember that the readers are not bomb proof, however if treated with a little respect they are more than adequate for the farm environment. We have even had one work quite happily though it had been through the muck spreader. All be it a little scratched.

The latest model in the Agrident Hand Held range, again builds on the success of the APR500. A magnetic USB connection lead makes it easier to connect and batteries are now enclosed. It has a better slightly bigger colour screen, better keyboard. lighter!, slightly smaller and best of all even cheaper than the APR500. Software has also improved functionality whilst retaining the task mode of operation. A very nice easy to use EID reader.

The APR500 hand held reader built on the success of the APR350, with an improved layout, better connectivity, improved functionality and built in bluetooth. Agrident fixed the main weakness of the APR350 which was the connector on the top which users managed to break. Agrident stopped the reader from attempting to charge non rechargable batteries should you put them in , This could blow up the batteries and damage the reader, The APR500 has a clever fix in that it knows the battery type.

Like the APR350 it can run data collection tasks, but also has a mode for rapidly reading sheep in a race or pen, (one button press).

The APR350 proved itself on farm over many years. It came as a basic model with no bluetooth, variations on the APR 350 for example the APR380 has an extra bluetooth capability and the APR 400, 430 and 480 have built in barcode readers.

The APR 300 has 8 keys, its functionality as far as recording detailed records was limited, however for movements and tasks that require you to get a list of animals at speed it excelled, with a single button press it reads and records the tag.

The APR 350 combines the speed of the APR 300 with the extra functionality of being able to enter more data against each animal. It has 27 keys, it has all the keys of the APR 300 plus a numeric keypad, function keys, and more.

All readers are backlit so you can see the screen even after dark, they are also durable and watertight so you can use it in almost any environment.

All readers are fully integrated into FarmIT 3000, so no extra software is needed.
