Direct Dialer

Configuring the DirectDialer.exe

Configuration of the DirectDialer.exe is very simple. First double click on the icon in the system tray.

Now select the 'config' option from the tools menu.

Tapi Address

The tapi address is the interface to the phone, This will normally be in the form of the Tapi Driver.

Select your tapi address from the list of available tapi devices.

You will require a TAPI driver for Direct Dialer to function. Direct Dialer does NOT come with a TAPI driver, you will be able to obtain a TAPI driver for your phone system from your telephony system supplier. This in term will normally need to be not only installed on your computer but also configured in some way. Normally this involves linking your computer to the phone extension.

Licencing Server

Enter the IP address of the Licensing and Logging Server and the port number it is listening on. Please see the section on the configuration of the licensing server.

Popping Options

By default the program will pop when the phone rings, you may change this to pop on connected, i.e when you answer the call. by ticking the 'Pop On Connected' tick box.

Popping a customer record when the phone rings may sometime get annoying, particularly if you are in the middle of another program. A alternative is to configure the software to pop on connect i.e when you answer the call. This gives you a chance to just prepare yourself for the opening record.

You can exclude numbers from being popped by entering them into the “exclude the following numbers” box. Numbers need to be inside square braces and separated by a comma, for example “[Number1],[Number2],[Number3]”.
