Agrident EID Readers APR 300, APR 350 and APR 450

There are two basic types of Agrident reader, the APR 300 and the APR 350. There are however then variations on the APR 350 for example the APR 380 has an extra bluetooth capability and the APR 400, 430 and 480 have built in barcode readers.

The APR 300 has 8 keys, its functionality as far as recording detailed records is limited, however for movements and tasks that require you to get a list of animals at speed it excels, with a single button press it reads and records the tag.

The APR 350 combines the speed of the APR 300 with the extra functionality of being able to enter more data against each animal. It has 27 keys, it has all the keys of the APR 300 plus a numeric keypad, function keys, and more. It is therefore well suited to collecting complex data, for example lambing records and is a direct comparison with Rumitag GES II reader.

All readers are backlit so you can see the screen even after dark, they are also durable and watertight so you can use it in almost any environment.

All readers are fully integrated into FarmIT 3000, so no extra software is needed.

The Agrident readers are exceptionally well built (in fact that they will even work if submerged in water will surely please some Welsh Hill Farmers - but is not recommended!) and I have operated the readers in some very wet conditions, happy in the fact that they are waterproof. Please remember that the readers are not bomb proof, however treated with a little respect they are more than adequate for the farm environment. 

FarmIT Interfaces

FarmIT 3000 uses the same routines developed for the GES II Reader and therefore the APR 350 can be used in exactly the same manner and you may even combine them on your farm having one of each. The APR readers are however more expensive, particularly when you add the addition of Bluetooth and barcode reading, however given the durablilty and waterproof qualities this may well be worth the extra cost. In terms of capacity we have been using the readers on farms with well over 2500 animal without any problems at all.
