Direct Dialer

Introduction

The Border Software licensing service provides central control of Border Software client software licensing for Direct Dialer controls and other Border Software applications. The service regulates the number of active clients and limits the number that may be used on a network. The service also provides central logging of audit and error messages.

System Requirements

The following are the minimum system requirement to install the BAServer NT Service.

1. A Intel Pentium based computor running Microsoft Windows NT4 ( service pack 5) or Windows 2000 Professional. This may be a NT Server although the service will run equally well on a client workstation. For Windows 2000 more than 64 Meg of ram is desirable.

2. For Web authentication a perminent connect to the internet. If operating through a firewall then the BAServers port number will have to be enabled through the firewall. I.E port 5002.

3. The Direct Dialer Server requires a ODBC connection to the BAS.mdb file. therefore the Windows NT4 MDAC( Microsoft Data Access Conponents) need to be added, both MDAC 2 and its service patch MDAC 2.1. These are provided on the installation CD.This is included in Windows 2000 by default.
