Direct Dialer Integration with Act! 6

ACT ! 2000 or Version 6 from Symantec, does have its own tapi interface, allowing you to dial out and pop a customer record as the phone rings. Therefore to use this functionality you do not need Direct Dialer. However direct dialer allows one very small but major improvement.

Popping Act!- On Call Connect.

The DirectDialerAct.EXE provides the screen popping with Act! but allows you to select to pop the customer record on call connect rather than call offering (phone ringing).

 

Useing Direct Dialer for Act! 6

When you install Direct Dialer an exe specifically for use with ACT! 6 is installed, however you will need to create a shortcut to it by right clicking where you want the shortcut to be. Img

Then type in "C:\Program Files\Border Software\Direct Dialer\ACT 6\DirectDialerAct.exe"

Then click on "Next" and enter a name for your shortcut, "Direct Dialer" for example then press "Finish"

Popping Options

Select 'Config' from the tools menu. For full details of the Direct Dialer configurtaion please refer to the direct dialer client pages.

 

Simply tick the 'Pop On Connected' option open th eact record when you answer the phone.

 

Act! Options

Select 'Act! 6 Options' from the tools menu

 

You may test the popping independantly of the phone system, simply by entering the telephone number and clicking the 'Test' button.
